Balsa Seg faults any time it: 1) gets lots of mail in a folder; 2) attempts to process HTML mail. Pan Seg Faults trying to download a news server groups list. And Mozilla dies on graphics-intensive pages. However, these applications run fine (and do not seg fault under any of the abovbe conditiosn) under the latest KDE.
