When I try to use the Adaptec's SCSI Select utility to low level the harddrive, I get the following error dialog: Unexpected SCSI Command Failed Target SCSI ID: 1 SCSI CDB Sent: 03 00 00 00 0E 00 Host Adapter Status: 00h - No host adapter error Target Status: 02h - Check condition Sense Key: 0Bh +Sense Code: 40h +Sense Code Qualifier: 01h I get the following error if I try to verify the Seagate disk media, using the Adaptec SCSISelect utils: Target SCSI ID: 1 SCSI CDB Sent: 03 00 00 00 0E 00 70 00 03 00 Host Adapter Status: 00h - No host adapter error Target Status: 02h - Check condition Sense Key: 03h - Medium error +Sense Code: 31h +Sense Code Qualifier: 00h The Seagate J8 option Jumper block is jumpered as follows: 2 34 o o o o o o o o o o-o o o o o o | | | o o o o o o o o o o o-o o o o o o 1 33 ~~~~~ ~ ~~~ | | | | | +- Power from drive power connector and to SCSI Bus | +- Parity Enable ^^^[Termination?] +- SCSI ID: 3 At this point, I am at a loss on how to fix this and continue with the hardware setup. Can anyone shed some light on how to go on? Or could the above errors mean I just have a bad drive? Thanks for any insights.
