Basically, you will have two Network cards in one machine, one = for the external connection (the IP that your ISP gave you) and an = internal card (ip that you can make up like 10.0.0.0, 192.168.0.0, = 172..... etc) If you run a proxy the internal network will use the = external card to get to the internet.
