Aparently in the makefiles there aren't the required instructions to translate makefile variables into the enviroment variables required by fetch(3) and fetch(1). >How-To-Repeat: Set HTTP_PROXY on /etc/make.conf, remembering to unset http_proxy and HTTP_PROXY shell enviroment variables (if set) because they have precedence.
