Date: Mon, 07 Dec 2009 08:15:48 -0500 As per a thread on -questions, there is a workaround to get the fixit shell to work. Go to Options, in the right column, there is an option to Re-scan devices. I did this, and sysinstall was able to recognize the media after that.
