This is clearly a bug, although how easy it may be to fix is unclear. It would be of considerable value if you could use the `-v' option to `route' so that it's possible to see precisely what is being sent down the routing socket. And if you could compile with debugging, a backtrace (from either DDB or gdb on the core dump) would also be tremendously helpful.
