I will take this issue up with the author on Monday. Until then, if this is causing someone severe heart-ache, they are welcome to commit to the driver. Personally, I think that phk's actions should surprise no-one. He said a year ago that this warning would become a panic, and anyone who wrote code that produced this warning is now getting their just desserts for not fixing it. I appreciate the phk has the guts to do what's necessary to move things forward once in a while. If I was to make one dissention, though, it would be that a formal 'HEAD-UP' message, sent 1-2 weeks ago, would have been nice.
