When you get to the partition editor in /stand/sysinstall, you can use the option "a" to have it automatically create them for you. It will probably give you 40MB for /, 20MB for /var, double your ram for swap, and the rest /usr. Last time I installed, I didn't use the "a" option because I wanted to make /var a link to /usr/var. So I made 40MB /, 256MB swap, and the rest /usr. The installation complained that I had no /var, but I gently assured it that all was well, and went on with the install as usual.
