Thanks for your help.

I went to check the newsgroup archive and finally found a fast and simple
solution : a little program called bootpart (freeware), available at
http://www.winimage.com. You launch it, it scans your disks and then from
the command prompt you enter the appropriate parameters and it modifies the
boot.ini for you... Voila ...

I'll probably come up with more questions later ;-)
