Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode
mp_lock = 010000002; cpuid = 1; lapic.id = 01000000
fault virtual address = x0119211a8
fault code = supervisor read, page not present
IP 8:c01f32b6
SP 10:ff04f44
FP 10:ff804f6c
code segment = base 0. limit fffff. type 1b
                                 = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1
processor eflags interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0
current process idle
interrupt mask <-SMP: XXX
etc.....

Always while ftp'ing so far.
*Sometimes* I get this, mostly it all just freezes I can't switch TTY's.
Guess I should wrote down the error the first time.

Once I got this:
    /kernel: cksum: out of data

shortly followed by
    panic: sbdrop mp_lock = 01000001
    cpuid=1; lapic.id = 01000000

3.3 STABLE cvsuped 5/11
SMP kernel (Also Froze on a non SMP build)

ABit BP6,2x466 celery not OC'ed,128MB, Quantum KA13.6 (wd0:/, Swap and
/usr/src)
Quantum EX6.4 (wd2: /usr), RT8139 Nic.

I'm a newbie but not a first timer, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
I may have built a bad kernel. (config -r:make depend:make:make install).
Possibly a bad world.

There are the following annoying messages at boot up.

config> di sio1
No such device: sio1
Invalid command or syntax. Type '?' for help.
.
repeated for every device I have commented out in the config file.
.
until config>q
.
I checked the Mail list archives on the web, found some other TRAP 12 posts
but no answers.
Guess I'll try 3.3 RELEASE

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

TIA

baldrik.

"T.P.Jackson for President."
