Check if FreeBSD supports your hardware
(http://www.freebsd.org/releases/4.3R/notes.html).
Then, if it supports it, check options during installations (sorry, I don't
remeber
how that stage of installation is named). By the way look at second/third
console
during installation, they can help you to descore problems with your
hardware.
