A little background is in order. I sent an email to a girl in order to ascertain if she was interested in the possibility of dating me. I considered this to be a wimpy action, as a "real man" would've asked her in person. Her response (to my included proclamation of wimpiness) is below (her response to the email in general was along the lines of "I wouldn't date a wimp at this point in my life" -- I can just hear Lloyd in Dumb and Dumber: "So you're saying there's a chance..."): "A person who has been skydiving is not allowed to call himself a wimp. Thus, please submit a letter to the editor asking that your statements be retracted. :)" I guess -chat is as close to "the editor" as I can think of, so here goes... To whom it may concern: The purpose of this letter is to inform you that I, a person accused of being a wimp by none other than myself, am not *actually* a wimp. Furthermore, I recant from my earlier statements. I have been reminded of the many non-wimpy traits I possess (numbering things is most notably not one of them): 1) I have voluntarily jumped out of an aircraft. 2) I have unarmed combat training (thanks to the US Air For... doh!!!). 3) Elsewhere in that email she called me "one of the gir..." DOH!!!. OK, fine. I am not a wimp because I skydived/skydove/went_skydiving. There. And I can beat you up. Yeah, I've taken out a completely drunk guy when I was sober. It was awesome...
