: Yuck!  I guess this looks like bad blocks on the SCSI hard drive a
: "SEAGATE ST51080N" -- Oh poop!!  Luckily almost new and still under
: warranty. 

 Some scsi drives come with badsector remapping turned off for some
 stupid reason... check the freebsd faq about using the
 'scsi'
 command to enable it for this drive.. that should fix your problem.
