Since you're using FreeBSD at home, in a private network you dont need to follow any rules regarding the settings. That means that you're free to pick a hostname of your choice. e.g. "homecomputer". Since you're also not part of any domain you may pick that one also. Like "homenetwork". The gateway is obviously 192.168.0.1. As nameserver you pick whichever German Telekom assigned. 217.237.151.142 is your own IP at the time and clearly not your nameserver. As Telekom customer you could just use 194.25.2.129 for example. Ok, in the little network interface window you use your local ip and netmask. so ipv4: 192.168.0.4 netmask 255.255.255.0. HTH, Benjamin
