Using cvs is one area which, thanks to my Linux > heritage, is best rated as ERROR_NONE > Manish, There's a make.conf and script on this page which might be of help in keeping your ports uptodate: http://www.shute.org.uk/misc/freebsd_uptodate.html When you've 'suped your ports, you'll notice that there is some stuff about xfce in /usr/ports/UPDATING.
