Latin-9) is supposed to have superseded= in in Europe, as it adds the Euro sign and some extra ligatures and accented letters. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO/IEC_8859-15 However, more and more systems and programs are switching to Unicode these days, especially the UTF-8 encoding. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTF-8] As opposed to Type 1 postscript fonts, TrueType or OpenType fonts can handle t= he thousands of glyphs that are often present in Unicode typefaces.
