There is absolutely *zero* difference between a serial port using a null modem and a RS-232 interface modem on that same serial port, as far as the operating system is concerned. I've tried to tell you what *will* work, and how to find appropriate hardware, and all you want to do is argue with the help you're being given. What you need to do is hire somebody to *do*the*programming* to port the device driver you "require' to the newer version of the O/S.
