you should need this. If you update your sources 3.4.1 will be in there
anyway.

If you just installed a fresh system, upgrade the sources first,
compile and install it, get a new ports tree and then start installing
ports.

Of course, you could stick with the current sources and the current
ports tree but would soon face the problem of updating the machine.
