The main problem is that there are too many mirrors of the
information he wants removed. Let's say the FreeBSD list
admin deletes the message from the database and the web.
But what about the many other mirrors? And what about users
who locally store messages? Even worse, what if such a user
decides to "re-upload" the message in question?

Sadly, removing information from the Internet won't happen.
The Elders of the Internet told me so. ;-)
