Do it manually.

ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/2.1.0-RELEASE/src/ssys.*

Download to /usr/src as root, cd /usr/src and type

cat ssys.* | tar xzf -

Your kernel source will appear and you may continue.

X11 is too big to pkg_add.  It has to be downloaded, and tar xzf'd manually.
