Your is not a software problem it applies to understanding your
hardware.

First find and read the documentation on installing and setting up your
drive for your particular PC.  Most information can be gotten from the
web particular to the manufacturer.

For installing FreeBSD beside another operating system, download and
read the documentation from FreeBSD.org in the tutorials section:

"Using FreeBSD with other operating systems" 

I think that will supply all the answers to all your questions and a few
future ones.
