Hello,

I have been trying to become successful in building a new kernel. My
machine is not complicated, and all the devices work under the generic
kernel that comes with fbsd 2.2.1. I rebuilt the kernel and when I try to
boot up with it I get this error:

mgetty fatal: aa1 mod: cannot open line /dev/cuaa1
mgetty fatal: aa1 open device /dev/cuaa1 failed
mgetty fatal: aa1 cannot get terminal line exiting

This will repeat until I reboot. The booting proccess will stop with
another message about "something happening too quickly" and sleeps for 30
seconds. I pretty sure that is the order that the error messages come in.
My box has a 28.8 modem that works fine using term in user ppp mode,
though I want to put kernel ppp to work. Here is a copy of my kernel
configuration file. I appreciate any input.

Best regards,

David
