Yes!!! that was the reason of the problem!!!  I was trying to print to an
EPSON Stylus Color printer (using escape sequences and special
characters), but the default settings are for a TEXT ONLY printer... so,
I think that, when the text filter receives non-text data, it panics,
instead of just stop printing and send a decent message to the error log.
