            Bug ID: 216492
           Summary: net-im/pidgin: ICQ module can't connect using secure
                    connection
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: amd64
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: marcus@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: godevilove@ya.ru
          Assignee: marcus@FreeBSD.org
             Flags: maintainer-feedback?(marcus@FreeBSD.org)

On 'Advanced' tab if I choose 'Connection security: Require encryption' and
'Authentication method: MD5-based' - a connect attempt results into a promp=
t: [
Accept certificate for slogin.icq.com?

The certificate for slogin.icq.com could not be validated.

The certificate is not trusted because no certificate that can verify it is
currently trusted.
]
View certificate button shows another window with this info: [
Certificate Information

Common name: *.icq.com

Issued By: CN=3DGeoTrust SSL CA,O=3D"GeoTrust, Inc.",C=3DUS

Fingerprint (SHA1): 9c:24:9e:40:eb:67:09:2f:56:98:80:c4:df:7b:f8:4b:50:1b:9=
1:e7

Activation date: Wed May 16 15:00:58 2012

Expiration date: Thu Aug 17 01:09:10 2017
]
And View Issuer Certificate button in it results into: [
Unable to find Issuer Certificate
]

If I accept the certificate anyways and try to connect - I am getting [
Unable to connect to BOS server: SSL Handshake Failed
]

This happens with both pidgins: the one installed from pkg and the one comp=
iled
from ports.
