Any Pointers ? I've got a half-way working self install CD image at work. It requires a fair bit of low level knowledge though, and it is quite old (from about March). I need to update it anyway, now that we have a full release with gcc etc. Cheers, -Peter -- Peter Wemm - peter@wemm.org; peter@FreeBSD.org; peter@yahoo-inc.com "All of this is for nothing if we don't go to the stars" - JMS/B5 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ia64" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-ia64 Mon Jul 1 20:55:52 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-ia64@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.FreeBSD.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 41A0337B405; Mon, 1 Jul 2002 20:55:44 -0700 (PDT) Received: from overcee.wemm.org (12-232-114-102.client.attbi.com [12.232.114.102]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3BF7743E09; Mon, 1 Jul 2002 20:55:43 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from peter@wemm.org) Received: from wemm.org (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by overcee.wemm.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DBBC53910; Mon, 1 Jul 2002 20:55:49 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from peter@wemm.org) X-Mailer: exmh version 2.5 07/13/2001 with nmh-1.0.4 To: ia64@freebsd.org Cc: dfr@freebsd.org, marcel@freebsd.org Subject: ia64 kernel on Itanium2 Date: Mon, 01 Jul 2002 20:55:49 -0700 From: Peter Wemm Message-Id: <20020702035549.DBBC53910@overcee.wemm.org> Sender: owner-freebsd-ia64@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org So far: ACPI debug layer 0x0 debug level 0x0 Copyright (c) 1992-2002 The FreeBSD Project. I have no idea how the kernel could possibly have booted on the existing hardware with one of them. :-) BTW; why do we need to preallocate over a million PV entries and long-format PTE entries? :-) UMA had this strange habit of allocating them outside of the initial 256MB wired TR area in region 7 and the rest of the kernel was not amused. BTW2: Do not #define UMA_DEBUG, UMA_DEBUG_ALLOC and UMA_DEBUG_ALLOC_1 all at once. BTW3: Notice the two big chunks of physical memory.. some below the 4G mark and the rest above 4G. So, about those pci bounce buffers and busdma for network cards....
