I didn't bother checking if the Xeons on the x346 went 64-bit or not, but if they do then they would be EMT64 (IIRC) so an x86_64 perhaps, or something like that, but not IA64. Having said that, and since this is an IA64-related mailing list, an IA64/Itanium box would do well running those things you mentioned :) rick jones From owner-freebsd-ia64@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Jun 13 19:06:05 2005 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-ia64@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-ia64@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7900B16A41C for ; Mon, 13 Jun 2005 19:06:05 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from marcel@xcllnt.net) Received: from ns1.xcllnt.net (209-128-86-226.bayarea.net [209.128.86.226]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1C44043D53 for ; Mon, 13 Jun 2005 19:06:05 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from marcel@xcllnt.net) Received: from [192.168.4.250] (dhcp50.pn.xcllnt.net [192.168.4.250]) by ns1.xcllnt.net (8.13.3/8.13.3) with ESMTP id j5DJ62Gm004579; Mon, 13 Jun 2005 12:06:02 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from marcel@xcllnt.net) In-Reply-To: References: Mime-Version: 1.0 (Apple Message framework v622) Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Message-Id: <61a7288417db45aeb42f20ceedce495d@xcllnt.net> Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable From: Marcel Moolenaar Date: Mon, 13 Jun 2005 12:05:59 -0700 To: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?=CDsak_Ben?= X-Mailer: Apple Mail (2.622) Cc: freebsd-ia64@freebsd.org Subject: Re: ia64 or i386 for IBM xSeries 346 ? There's simply not enough momentum right now to attract developers and alpha/beta users. I'm still working on ia64 in the background, but I've been enjoying other things as well. I don't feel an urge or need to finish the major items on my todo list. --=20 Marcel Moolenaar USPA: A-39004 marcel@xcllnt.net From owner-freebsd-ia64@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Jun 14 15:20:35 2005 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-ia64@FreeBSD.org Delivered-To: freebsd-ia64@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 86FEE16A41F for ; Tue, 14 Jun 2005 15:20:35 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from wagner@provale.com.br) Received: from viking.provale.com.br (viking.provale.com.br [200.210.108.2]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C0F4743D48 for ; Tue, 14 Jun 2005 15:20:32 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from wagner@provale.com.br) Received: from wagner.provale.com.br (clipper.provale.com.br [200.210.108.3]) by viking.provale.com.br (8.13.1/8.13.1) with ESMTP id j5EFKSfw048361 for ; Tue, 14 Jun 2005 12:20:29 -0300 (BRT) Message-Id: <6.2.1.2.0.20050614122234.064b9790@pop.provale.com.br> X-Mailer: QUALCOMM Windows Eudora Version 6.2.1.2 Date: Tue, 14 Jun 2005 12:25:25 -0300 To: freebsd-ia64@FreeBSD.org From: Wagner Vieira Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; x-avg-checked=avg-ok-22B37EC8; boundary="=======AVGMAIL-42AEF6E5492E=======" X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.5 Cc: Subject: HP Compliance X-BeenThere: freebsd-ia64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the IA-64 List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 14 Jun 2005 15:20:35 -0000 --=======AVGMAIL-42AEF6E5492E======= Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1; format=flowed; x-avg-checked=avg-ok-22B37EC8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi, It=B4s possible to install FreeBSD on a HP ProLiant ML150 G2 Server series?
