My assessment is that the project is likely to release 0.13.0 soon, but I have no visibility into precisely when. If you are able, please test the latest development version of this port by checking it out from the Redports repository [1] or applying the patch to your latest ports tree [2] (expires in 1 month). Run the provided test suite as indicated in the regression-test target, or simply with nosetests pandas =2E Please report any build, installation, run-time, or unit-test failures to me on this list. Thank you also John for detailing the issue. On the suggestion to remove the NLS option, I discussed this with bapt@, one of our fine portmgr's, who indicated that it is recommended for ports to add NLS to OPTIONS_DEFINE explicitly where it is an option. Having said that, it was also clear from your submission that the deprecation of the prior variable could have been more explicit, and an improvement to this affect has been committed [1][2] which should make it much clearer to users who might stumble upon this in the future. In summary, WITHOUT_* is no longer functional, and has been replaced with OPTIONS_UNSET=NLS in make.conf or WITHOUT="NLS" on the command line Additional details are conventions are available in Mk/bsd.options.mk [1] http://svnweb.freebsd.org/changeset/ports/336336 [2] http://svnweb.freebsd.org/changeset/ports/336337 From owner-freebsd-python@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Dec 13 12:38:19 2013 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-python@smarthost.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [8.8.178.115]) (using TLSv1 with cipher ADH-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 86018B4A; Fri, 13 Dec 2013 12:38:19 +0000 (UTC) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206c::16:87]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 5A9A91376; Fri, 13 Dec 2013 12:38:19 +0000 (UTC) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.7/8.14.7) with ESMTP id rBDCcJn5082844; Fri, 13 Dec 2013 12:38:19 GMT (envelope-from koobs@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from koobs@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.7/8.14.7/Submit) id rBDCcIVg082843; Fri, 13 Dec 2013 12:38:18 GMT (envelope-from koobs) Date: Fri, 13 Dec 2013 12:38:18 GMT Message-Id: <201312131238.rBDCcIVg082843@freefall.freebsd.org> To: gerald@pfeifer.com, koobs@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-python@FreeBSD.org From: koobs@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: ports/184339: lang/python27 does not allow unsetting NLS (or other options) X-BeenThere: freebsd-python@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.17 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD-specific Python issues List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 13 Dec 2013 12:38:19 -0000 Synopsis: lang/python27 does not allow unsetting NLS (or other options) State-Changed-From-To: feedback->closed State-Changed-By: koobs State-Changed-When: Fri Dec 13 12:38:18 UTC 2013 State-Changed-Why: Deprecation warning has been enabled, no changes to Python ports are needed/warranted.
