I want to get a system running where I can do web-browsing and other things before I upgrade other computer's FreeBSD installation from 9.2-STABLE to 10.0-RELEASE (when that is ready). There could be some downtime as I rebuild all ports following the major-version change. Too many glitches with NetBSD! By the way, DragonFly is incompatible with my system: no Internet access with MSI Z77 MPOWER motherboard, and can't mount any partitions on my hard drive. OpenBSD can't read my hard drive at all for lack of GPT support. He claimed your commit broke it. At first I said, "well detection must be broken in that case", but after thinking about it, I questioned Niclas if it was actually broken. Since xorg-server still pulls in bsd.port.options.mk, the detection should still work (as you note). So right now, I'm working under the assumption there is actually no breakage at all, and Niclas just said the ports were broken without verifying first. If that assumption is wrong, he should correct it. I already have WITH_NEW_XORG=yes and WITK_KMS=yes in /etc/make.conf though I believe the "yes" is not significant, it just has to be something, even "no". I have Intel Sandy Bridge on one computer and Ivy Bridge on the other. I will want to try newcons on 11-head, still think I will want to have two xorg.conf* files, one for driver intel and the other for vesa as a fallback. Hi list, I installed it on a laptop, a Samsung Atėv book 2 model NP270E5E-K02IT with Intel HD Graphics 4000. Two minor bugs: - I use startx to initialize the X session. When I terminate it with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace the keyboard key is not working, I need to switch to another console eg. Ctrl+Alt+F3, return to the original console and now the keyboard works. - The laptop has an Italian keyboard layout. In the console the '€' (euro) sign is correctly displayed but clicking AltGr+E the symbol '¤' is visualized. Note that in a X session with xterm all works.
