From: Dave Taylor To: Message-ID: Mime-version: 1.0 Organization: Intuitive Systems - www.intuitive.com Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-freebsd-jobs@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.org I'm configuring three boxes that are getting FreeBSD installed on them, and while I'm a reasonably knowledgeable Unix person, I need a consultant who really knows FreeBSD configuration inside and out. What I seek is someone who can tighten down the proverbial hatches on the systems to maximize security, close up all the unneeded ports, etc. Two of the systems will only be running sendmail (one outbound only, one inbound only) and SSH, and the third only Apache and SSH. There's the possibility of some sendmail configuration too, if you're an expert in that. The job should take between 2 hours and a half-day, on-site in San Mateo, CA (close to Oracle, actually). Interested? Please contact me via email with your background and relevant FreeBSD security/configuration experience. This is not really a paid position but rather one which would be compensated for via free advertising and web hosting (and we will consider any other reasonable offers). Revenue sharing with consultants is clearly a likely option once we have revenue coming back in from the site. The free advertising could easily add up to thousands of dollars each month. We may, from time to time also get requests for consulting referrals which would also go to our own consultants first for consideration, so this may be a great way to get some projects as well. We are trying to establish ourselves as the #1 portal for these operating systems and receive between 400-500 hits each month, however in order to be successfull we need the help of competent folks like you. Please let me know if you are interested in being a consultant/moderator with us by emailing me directly at vladislav@davidzon.com -- and feel free to check out the site at http://www.linuxfool.com [watch out for falling html though, we're currently undergoing reconstruction ;] and the other at http://www.bsdfool.com Thank you, and I look forward to any and all replies.
