A dual P3 server which uses Intel's 440GX chipset with a PERC3 Raid adaptor. >Description: When the kernel probes for USB, it gives a message, move the IRQ and hangs. (sorry I don't have the message, but I can get it) It boots fine with a kernel that doesn't have USB support. Note that the motherboard doesn't have any USB plug or device and the BIOS doesn't have anything about USB. I guess that it is in the southbridge but not supported by the motherboard. If not, please redirect me elsewhere, thanks. :) I have a Asus P4C800 Motherboard, and I've tried multiple network cards, but each one with the same result. It comes back saying : couldn't map interrupt in dmesg. This happens in 5.1-RELEASE, however, it functions properly in 4.8-RELEASE. I've tried cards that use the rl driver and the dc driver. All with the same response. I've gone through standard things, making sure PnP OS is set to NO in BIOS, etc. Is there anything else I can attempt to debug? It did become much more stable, but if I start a big compile (kernel or Mozilla) the CPU overheats. For some reason it doesn't turn the correct fan on and in 5-10 minutes of compiling I get a message in the /var/log/messages about CPU temperature beging in invalid range (> 90C) and systems shuts down. I've updated to the latest kernel and it didn't make a difference. It is the same as uint32_t if C99 is supported and uint32_t is supported. There are no U_FOOn_MAX macros corresponding to the u_fooN_t types, and such macros are mostly not needed since the maximums are easily calculated. More parts of C99 including limits for fixed-width types are supported, but arc4random() is still documented to return u_int32_t so using UINT32_MAX with it is still an anachronism. > >How-To-Repeat: > > >Fix: > > I think that adding > > #define UINT32_MAX 0xffffffffU /* max value for an unsigned int */ > > to limits.h will fix this. This would add some bugs: - namespace pollution. is not permitted to define UINT32_MAX. In C99, UINT32_MAX is only defined in (and inttypes.h>). - the cloned comment is wrong in this context. - the U suffix is not quite right in this context. It is correct but redundant for UINT_MAX on 32-bit machines. I think it is wrong on machines with UINT32_MAX < INT_MAX.
