So far I have been fairly successful, especially on 5.2, but helixplayer still needs a good bit of work before it will run on freebsd. Out of 110 modules I am able to build 106 of them, 2 of them not being build because it depends on the GTK gui part that is failing to build. I am hoping some of you will be willing to help me port this huge beast. Also any feedback is also greatly appreciated. A shar file can be found at http://vtel.rgv.net/~ahze/pre-patches/helixplayer.shar Cheers, Michael From owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Jul 29 05:36:58 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4A88B16A4CE for ; Thu, 29 Jul 2004 05:36:58 +0000 (GMT) Received: from mail.cableone.net (scanmail3.cableone.net [24.116.0.123]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E86B343D5A for ; Thu, 29 Jul 2004 05:36:57 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from v.velox@vvelox.net) Received: from vixen42.24-119-122-191.cpe.cableone.net (unverified [24.119.122.85]) by smail3.cableone.net (SurgeMail 1.9b) with ESMTP id 29050834 for multiple; Wed, 28 Jul 2004 22:21:35 -0700 Date: Thu, 29 Jul 2004 00:36:40 -0500 From: Vulpes Velox To: michael johnson Message-Id: <20040729003640.5f2cb0e8@vixen42.24-119-122-191.cpe.cableone.net> In-Reply-To: References: X-Mailer: Sylpheed-Claws 0.9.12 (GTK+ 1.2.10; i386-portbld-freebsd4.10) Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Server: High Performance Mail Server - http://surgemail.com cc: multimedia@freebsd.org Subject: Re: Helixplayer on freebsd X-BeenThere: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Multimedia discussions List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 29 Jul 2004 05:36:58 -0000 On Thu, 29 Jul 2004 00:49:31 -0400 michael johnson wrote: > Hi, > > I am attempting to port helixplayer, http://helixplayer.org, to > freebsd. Will probally involve adding /usr/X11R6 or /usr/X11R6/lib or the like to a configure option. Look inside the configure file for what it wants. If it is for gtk and not gtk+ it is probally looking for gtk-config... not sure about gtk+.
