Also, different antennas have different gains. No. It seems like antenna is not the problem. I have tried connecting external one today, same poor perfomance. But... When I do run Windowz there are 2 different ways this card behaves. a) Managed by Windowz WiFi stack: - same poor perfomance, disconnections, etc b) Managed by supplied Proxim's client utility: - good link strength, works as it should Seems like client utility is doing some tweaks on the card (switching it's power level may be?) Actually I have bought myself Buffalo G54 card today. It is 3 times (!) cheaper then Proxim Orinoco and works perfectly with NDISualtor (it is Broadcom based): device = 'BCM4306(??) 802.11g Wireless NIC' Just thought I should warn everyone - do NOT buy crappy Proxim. Cheers, AL. p.s. Buffalo costs 54 singapore dollards here (it is about $32 usd) I should say it is very cheap for B/G card! p.p.s. I was looking for a G card with external connector, seems like now I have found one. Tomorrow will go buy a pack of them for my friends, to bring with me when I will go back to Russia. Taken me a while to think thru your Q. If the vpns have separate SAs and you use unique instead of require in the policy entry I think the answer is yes. That is assuming both vpns go out the one interface? You need that so the IPSEC code sees each VPN as different even tho' they use the one physical i/f However there may be an underlying packet routing issue here. I think you would need static routes defined for each client with the interface as the target rather than the IP eg: route add 192.168.1.0/24 -interface rl1 regards Pete From owner-freebsd-net@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Aug 2 11:07:43 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-net@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7C7BC16A4D2 for ; Mon, 2 Aug 2004 11:07:43 +0000 (GMT) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5DE0443D48 for ; Mon, 2 Aug 2004 11:07:43 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (peter@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.12.11/8.12.11) with ESMTP id i72B7hX5009010 for ; Mon, 2 Aug 2004 11:07:43 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: (from peter@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.12.11/8.12.11/Submit) id i72B7guJ009004 for freebsd-net@freebsd.org; Mon, 2 Aug 2004 11:07:42 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Date: Mon, 2 Aug 2004 11:07:42 GMT Message-Id: <200408021107.i72B7guJ009004@freefall.freebsd.org> X-Authentication-Warning: freefall.freebsd.org: peter set sender to owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org using -f From: FreeBSD bugmaster To: freebsd-net@FreeBSD.org Subject: Current problem reports assigned to you X-BeenThere: freebsd-net@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Networking and TCP/IP with FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 02 Aug 2004 11:07:43 -0000 Current FreeBSD problem reports Critical problems Serious problems Non-critical problems S Submitted Tracker Resp. But when putting some load on the interface, (misc nfs and scp things) it starts giving troubles: kernel: rue0: watchdog timeout kernel: rue0: usb error on tx: IN_PROGRESS kernel: rue0: usb error on tx: TIMEOUT And all my pings etc stopped working, and ping started saying no buffer space... and such (but my irrsi still let me see some of the new privmesgs for a while) I stoppede the load and downed and upped the interface again and after a while it started to let me send packets again. But short after the same error occoured again and i gave up. Is this because of shitty crap hardware(it costed me about 10euros) or is there some solution with the driver ? kind regards Sřren Vrist From owner-freebsd-net@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Aug 3 13:36:20 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-net@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 94B8A16A4CE for ; Tue, 3 Aug 2004 13:36:20 +0000 (GMT) Received: from mail.sandvine.com (sandvine.com [199.243.201.138]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id EAC9743D69 for ; Tue, 3 Aug 2004 13:36:19 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from ddolson@sandvine.com) Received: by mail.sandvine.com with Internet Mail Service (5.5.2657.72) id ; Tue, 3 Aug 2004 09:36:18 -0400 Message-ID: From: Dave Dolson To: "'Nickolay A. There was a problem with 'reusing' tap(4) interface. While tapclose() zeroes IFF_RUNNING flag, tapopen() does not set it back to 1. I am not sure if it is bug or feature, but taking a quick look on code in the latest revision shows the same. I can see weird behavior of this command: traceroute -s privateIP -P UDP dst Outgoing UDP packets are translated, ICMP time-exceded message comes back, but traceroute shows '* * *'. ;) Commands: traceroute -s privateIP -P ICMP dst and traceroute -s privateIP -P TCP dst are working OK. UDP protocol is _not_ filtered. Also `traceroute -s publicIP -P UDP dst' works just fine.
