The role will involve owning the running of our site which is written in PHP/SQL on Open/FreeBSD servers. Work is currently underway on a new version and longer term you would be developing for and maintaining this new system after decommissioning the old site. You will need to be good at tracking down bugs in the code and finding exactly where the problems are, the ideal candidate will be capable of fixing a majority of the bugs also. So you should be very sure of your PHP/SQL skills from a programming perspective and you should understand and be able to investigate database problems such as deadlocks, problems with replication and FreeBSD specifics such as the pros/cons and real world effects of the various threading models.
