One of these is something called "avahi-app". I have no idea what this is, and since I'm really just trying to build gthumb, I don't really care. I just want to get it built. Anyway, the build of avahi-app is dying during configuration as follows: ... checking for pkg-config... /usr/local/bin/pkg-config checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes checking for GLIB20... yes checking for GOBJECT... yes checking for DBUS... yes Error: Couldn't determine the version of your D-Bus package. This is probably an error in this script, please report it along with the following information: Base D-Buss version ='' DBUS_VERSION_MAJOR='0' DBUS_VERSION_MINOR='0' DBUS_VERSION_MICRO='0' ===> Script "configure" failed unexpectedly. ... I there by any chance a simple/known fix for this? I have no idea what D-Bus even is, let alone why it's version number is unknown to the configure for avahi-app. Any help appreciated. It needs it for the cdda backend. b) libcdio already got a option for paranoia support and it is default to on. Julian you can do two things now. Either you disable the cdda backend in gvfs with the WITH_CDDA option. Or build libcdio with paranoia support. -Koop > regards > arved_______________________________________________ > freebsd-ports@freebsd.org mailing list > http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-ports-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" > From owner-freebsd-gnome@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Nov 16 17:07:02 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: gnome@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B3E9F106568B; I'd request one of the 2 ports be changed please, so that by default, without changing either default options, the 2 Makefiles are compatible when called from above, eg from /usr/ports/net-mgmt/etherape Cheers, Julian -- Julian Stacey: BSD Unix Linux C Sys Eng Consultants Munich http://berklix.com Mail plain text not quoted-printable, HTML or Base64: http://asciiribbon.org Vote For Smoke Free Bavarian Pubs Restaurants http://berklix.org/~jhs/nim/ From owner-freebsd-gnome@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Nov 19 09:03:33 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: gnome@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7320B106566B for ; Thu, 19 Nov 2009 09:03:33 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from kappei84@gmail.com) Received: from qw-out-2122.google.com (qw-out-2122.google.com [74.125.92.26]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2FA1A8FC15 for ; Thu, 19 Nov 2009 09:03:32 +0000 (UTC) Received: by qw-out-2122.google.com with SMTP id 9so442062qwb.7 for ; Thu, 19 Nov 2009 01:03:32 -0800 (PST) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=domainkey-signature:mime-version:received:date:message-id:subject :from:to:content-type; bh=nyyIR50JjreWoQife7g5FTdesioo+s+FRv58HMGtwfc=; b=La6ZyAblmGtZxj544np+VUgQbY6f3Mirdrtrby0gSuhfu0LmUA/Q5Omd/uIBlGqGE5 RvGMynN0vdkcLyLPL6g+Xk1RSqcgzbHi2oJWyfw0ETlpDgfNZS5aRPzHwocShxKOPF1R /DUBLSv1btHd4MxCjbQ75rS38be8AVM4WsBPk= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=mime-version:date:message-id:subject:from:to:content-type; b=m1ba8OXUTZJFE/6sjh+rQm8bRzmXXRoQ52nQfd6U25F3O4RmCQsRl9WvoiVEpp84SD 4S6LLD3EVdCAWeQpZSiOPLMyrh/RyFghI90pC4cY+ADOAQ02Z7rRFXBR3jjgHhlgadhl fBb+JgAqm69DQSA+KqXBzU3Yg6yFJFvX89arM= MIME-Version: 1.0 Received: by 10.229.29.148 with SMTP id q20mr1609081qcc.51.1258619729117; Thu, 19 Nov 2009 00:35:29 -0800 (PST) Date: Thu, 19 Nov 2009 09:35:29 +0100 Message-ID: <4feb8fe70911190035p15da209dj945ad85a4d01c9d4@mail.gmail.com> From: Daniele Mazzotti To: gnome@FreeBSD.org Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.5 Cc: Subject: [FreeBSD] Gedit Plugin issued the following error X-BeenThere: freebsd-gnome@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: GNOME for FreeBSD -- porting and maintaining List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 19 Nov 2009 09:03:33 -0000 Dear maintainer, I am writing to report an error related to gedit. I have installed both gedit and gedit plugins on my freebsd 7.2 box but I cannot get the last one to work. I have compiled the plugin module with python support. Enclosed with the email is a trace of the error and the list of installed python packages. As you can see I am using python 2.6 as python version. The error is due to the following actions: 1. open gedit; 2. go to edit -> preferences -> plugins; 3. try to load code comment, latex plugin ( http://live.gnome.org/Gedit/LaTeXPlugin) and embed terminal. In many cases these ports are failing to compile on some subset of the FreeBSD build environments. The most common problem is that recent versions of -CURRENT include gcc4.2, which is much stricter than older versions. The next most common problem is that compiles succeed on the i386 architecture (e.g. the common Intel PC), but fail on one or more of the other architectures due to assumptions about things such as size of various types, byte-alignment issues, and so forth. In occasional cases we see that the same port may have different errors in different build environments. The script that runs on the build cluster uses heuristics to try to 'guess' the error type to help you isolate problems, but it is only a rough guide. One more note: on occasion, there are transient build errors seen on the build farm. Unfortunately, there is not yet any way for this algorithm to tell the difference (humans are much, much better at this kind of thing.) The errors are listed below. In the case where the same problem exists on more than one build environment, the URL points to the latest errorlog for that type. (By 'build environment' here we mean 'combination of 6.x/7.x/-current with target architecture'.) (Note: the dates are included to help you to gauge whether or not the error still applies to the latest version. The program that generates this report is not yet able to determine this automatically.) portname: databases/libgda4-jdbc broken because: does not configure build errors: none. overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=databases&portname=libgda4-jdbc If these errors are ones that you are already aware of, please accept our apologies and ignore this message. On the other hand, if you no longer wish to maintain this port (or ports), please reply with a message stating that, and accept our thanks for your efforts in the past. Every effort has been made to make sure that these error reports really do correspond to a port that you maintain. However, due to the fact that this is an automated process, it may indeed generate false matches. If one of these errors fits that description, please forward this email to the author of this software, Mark Linimon , so that he can attempt to fix the problem in the future. Thanks for your efforts to help improve FreeBSD.
