While I understand what syscons does, I am confused on what sio does even after reading the man page on the website. I understand that it handles a serial controller but I am confused on why it is so critical even though its possible to log into the machine through a serial line. Can you provide a reference? syscons(4) is definitely something we still need. That or an alternative implementation. sio(4) never needed to be ported when uart(4) was developed. So that part is definitely not applicable for a long time (more than 6 years by now). Will try to provide patches later today. Regards, -- Rink P.W. Springer - http://rink.nu "Beauty often seduces us on the road to truth." - Dr. Wilson
