The later Atheros NICs support radar detection on control and extension channels, and so when the relevant radar detection code is available, the stack should support this functionality. It seems that enforcing this should be a driver/firmware requirement, not a net80211 regulatory requirement. It's only relevant for channels where DFS radar detection is required (which we don't do anyway at the moment!) ; disabling these channels for STA mode seems counterproductive. That won't work I'm afraid, they are entirely different operating systems. I don't believe that Realtek currently provide public documentation or a FreeBSD driver for this chipset, so I suspect your only option right now is to wait for somebody to write a driver from scratch for it. I'm not aware of any efforts to do this at the moment. FWIW, I have several samples of this chipset that I could potentially provide to somebody willing to write a driver. My next step is to go line by line through OpenBSD ral & existing FreeBSD ral and try to find a way to either create an abstraction layer for easy porting or otherwise structure our driver to successfully "eat" OpenBSD changes in the future. This will take significant time on my part, as I am a noobophyte :). If anyone knows of useful tools for organizing very large C sources by function please let me know, it would help! I will do some major hacking at it tonight I suppose...it's about time :). I'll post updates sometime soon, but OpenBSD's 80211 stack seems quite different than ours...pci stuff is all different for sure. Matt
