Where is the documentation of the '[]' command? If one types, % man [ TEST(1) FreeBSD General Commands Manual TEST(1) NAME test - condition evaluation utility . . . [snip] You get the 'test(1)' manpage as you should, but there is no mention of how and when '[]' can be used instead of 'test.' In addition, % apropos '\[' ppmqvga(1) - 8 plane quantization ' name [, name] ... I am by no means a sh expert and just am interested in playing it safe in when I can use '[].'
