Anywho, the install froze during download several times. I was using /stand/sysinstall method. I hate to mention this but I downloaded the entire dist to an NT server (ouch) on the same ethernet hub and then pulled it over from there. Okay, so I may have found the problem in that I had a SMC 9432TX and the VGA card sharing an IRQ on the PCI bus. Ever since the upgrade the system will freeze about once a week, and I mean freeze all shells, no response, no Cntrl C, nothin'. I thought it was a cron job at first but it was consistent. Even after the IRQ resolution it's faster but still hangs. Help! Should I try reinstalling the system? cvsupping to stable? My machine is a Gateway 300MHz PII, 128MB physical ram, 8.4GB IDE. ~Kevin Rooney ~Instructional Technologist ~Southwest Virginia Community College ~P.O.
