Don't worry about the packages directory, the packages installer works for CDROM installs only. Unless you can get your CD working (you may need to move it to the slave position of the first controller) you can copy the packages to your DOS partiton, mount it, copy them over to the FreeBSD side (restoring the .tgz extension) and then use pkg_add package.tgz to add them. > get the Mitsumi recognized...
