I think you are right. The reason I thought of the net was the DESCR seems to me to have some emphasis on the network capability, and there are no other chracteristics that would make these programs fit in another cateogries besides misc. Anyway, the textproc isn't appropriate, and maybe new categry is a good way to go except that I'm not too sure if we have more ports than just dict, gdict and ispell (and probably a few more) that would go into it.
