I'd sent mail in earlier asking why, if I set an alias IP address on an interface, I could not telnet to that interface or ping it from the same box it is in. ifconfig ed0 1.2.3.4 ifconfig ed0 1.2.3.5 alias netmask 0xffffffff on 1.2.3.4, ping 1.2.3.5 hangs, etc. It turns out that (evidently) this is a problem with the vx driver, since it does work (on the SAME box) if I'm using an 'ed' interface. Whoever handles the vx driver might look into this. -ecsd@transbay.net To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-bugs" in the body of the message
