You might be right that you just need some kind of quirk entry to get this device working, or the right camcontrol magic. I think I'll turn this one over to the USB & SCSI experts... anyone? Clearly the device isn't behaving in quite the way the driver expects it to, though. Sorry I couldn't be more help, and good luck in getting this working.
