One of these has an internal Quantum DLT 4000 (that's how the BIOS identifies it) tape drive. I need to use it, but can find no evidence of this hardware in the dmesg output. I've googled around and really all I can locate are references to CAM, the aacp driver compiled in the kernel, and device.hints. Can someone put this all together for me? I'm not a newbie, have compiled many kernels and worlds, and have been a FBSD user for several years. Here is the dmesg output for this machine, which contains the above DLT Tape Drive connected to its embedded controller. The machine also has the standard SmartArray 3200 controller which is managing RAID drive volumes. The system sees the integrated controller and uses ida0 to id it, but does not see the tape drive.
