Hi Skip

I had all sorts of problems with ppp = stuff a=20 couple weeks ago too and I'm writing a
real simple guide but will be a week = at least=20 before I can finish it. There is a shell
script you can get from ftp://blackened.net that certainly made = life=20 easier for me,
you will need to edit the "set=20 timeout" line in the ppp.conf file it makes to suit=20 local
conditions and be certain to delete = the part in=20 this line after the "#" that goes on
about changing the default value of = 300 to 0 if=20 you don't want a timeout (the "#"
will confuse ppp no end). There are = a few more=20 minor changes you may have to
make, but its a lot simpler & = quicker way to=20 get ppp working than just relying on
other docs. For what its worth, I = changed my=20 gateway machine from Mandrake 6 to
FreeBSD because the docs were = infinitely more=20 intelligible, but I still have problems
with some of the stuff and just have = to bug the=20 lists til I understand what they are on about.
