First I send a mail-with-error NOT to the list, and after that I send a co= rrection to the list. So, one more attempt: =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D Hello Greg, > >strange is the =91ed0=92 that shows up once between all the =91ed1=92- > > The ed1 would be due to the ed0 in the generic kernel for non-PCMCIA > NICs. It should just be a cosmetic problem. Okay. If I want to, I know how to get rid of it ;-). > >ed1: address 01:02:00:ff:15:1d, type NE2000 (16 bit) > > What is the ethernet address under Windows? Talking about *quick reply* here. Fortunately we have timezones, and I didn't see this until this morning, and my server security-mailed me all I needed to know: arp: 192.168.1.99 moved from 01:02:00:ff:15:1d to 00:10:60:3b:53:53 and the reverse message about 30 minutes later. And I had rebooted into NT for a while, and: ifconfig ed1 ether 00:10:60:3b:53:53 was all I needed to get things going. Now that it is working, my next question is: Do I want to understand any of this?? ;-/ Anybody can point me to a good introduction / HowTo / InAtTheDeepEnd for this sort of stuff?
