At this point, I do: rpm -ivv --ignoreos --root /compat/linux --dbpath /var/lib/rpm Pervasive.SQL-7.90.243.007-2000i.i386.rpm And the rpm program lists a large number of files that are supposed to be created, such as: D: file: /usr/local/psql/bin/btadmin action: create However, these files don't seem to really be created. They're not in /compat/linux/usr/local or /usr/local - in fact, a "find" doesn't locate the psql directory anywhere on the HDD (it doesn't seem like rpm created it) Oddly enough, the last message (before rpm exits) is: D: running preinstall script (if any) Which seems to indicate that the program never got started. There's no error message, though. Am I doing something dumb/missed something obvious in the use of the rpm program? Any advice at this point is welcome. -Bill To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
