You don't really give much information to go on, for example how you are running ppp, or what ppp you are using. Provided that you are using the "ppp" command, and have not changed the default settings for logging, /var/log/ppp.log should contain a trace of what happened. If you still can't figure it out, try posting the pertinent part of the log, along with the configuration and command you are using.
