BTW, you don't have to add this to the Makefile; most ports are designed to honor user-specified CONFIGURE_ARGS, and just add to them. You can just do something like: make CONFIGURE_ARGS="--enable-explicit-python-linking" clean all install G'luck, Peter -- because I didn't think of a good beginning of it.
