Are you interested in fixing the problem that occurs with libpidfile, where locks acquired before fork are never properly released? Also, right now I've made lock acquisition sleeps in the kernel non-interruptible because the kernel->user protocol doesn't have a way to cancel requests, but it would be very nice if that were fixed.
