But portsnap is not updating since a few days while there are commits on the ports tree. [1] After some searching I found I am not the only one. Apparently there is maintenance being done on the servers. http://www.mail-archive.com/freebsd-ports@freebsd.org/msg45395.html I read a lot of blogs/RSS/etc. Nowhere any signs of maintenance on the servers. What is wrong with announcing these things on for example www.freebsd.org? NB: I know it is voluntary work, thanks for doing it. Regards, Ronald. [1] [root@sjakie ~]# time update_portstree.sh Looking up eu.portsnap.FreeBSD.org mirrors... 6 mirrors found. Fetching snapshot tag from ec2-eu-west-1.portsnap.freebsd.org... done. Latest snapshot on server matches what we already have. No updates needed. Ports tree is already up to date. ===>>> There are no new versions available ===>>> 968 total installed ports Thu Nov 15 13:23:57 CET 2012 [root@sjakie ~]# ls -l /usr/ports/INDEX-* -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 26830552 Nov 12 20:38 /usr/ports/INDEX-7 -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 26714819 Nov 12 20:38 /usr/ports/INDEX-8 -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 26696014 Nov 12 20:38 /usr/ports/INDEX-9
